How do we teach?
Our philosophy is to create a fun and interactive environment. In our experience, when students are actively involved in learning, they will retain more information.
To find out more about our approach see what is special about Bodyology
In every session we combine teaching theory and practice to enhance the learning experience. You will learn anatomy and physiology using diverse and interactive techniques such as videos and building 3-d models. We teach massage using tutor demonstrations followed by supervised hands-on tuition.
You will get a taste of life as a massage therapist on our ‘clinic days’ where you will treat paying members of the public in a ‘real life’ treatment scenario. You will also have the opportunity to do a placement enabling you to specialise in a specific area of massage and giving you a competitive edge before you have even qualified!
Our tutors are dedicated to your development and success and are on hand outside the classroom to give you help and advice. As a Bodyology student you will have privileged access to the Study Zone which contains easy to follow interactive lessons, quizzes, workshops, videos and a library (also available to those without internet access). Your access to the student zone will continue once you have qualified.

Course work
- You will need to perform at least 40 hours of massage outside the sessions and to complete a journal that records this.
- You will also need to receive 10 hours of massage. At least two of these must be from professional therapists (as opposed to fellow students). These will need to be recorded in your journal.
- You will be required to complete a ‘placement’. You will need to choose at least 3 people from a specific group (e.g. runners, women over a certain age, people with Repetitive Strain Injury) and treat them for a minimum of two sessions each. You will then need to record this separately from your massage journal.
- You will have to do some home-study supported by our tutors and the Bodyology Study Zone.
