Massaging with hot stones warms the muscles and connective tissue, allowing the therapist to go deeper while saving their fingers & thumbs from injury.
Once experienced, most clients will be completely hooked on hot stone massage!
Bodyology emphasizes teaching massage WITH the stones taking an holistic/therapeutic approach.
You do not need your own set of stones for course.
Course outline
This is a 2 days weekend course that counts towards your Continual Professional Development (CPD).
The course combines hot stone massage techniques with other techniques and, emphasis side-lying massage.
Entry requirements
Qualified therapists
3 months experience preferred (some exceptions- call for details).
What you will learn
- History and different styles of hot stone massage
- How to set up and clean your hot stone massage station
- The effects of hot and cold temperature on the body
- Techniques and strokes used in hot stone massage
- Contra-indication and safety issues
- Incorporating other techniques
How we teach
A short theory class is followed by tutor demonstrations and supervised hand-on tuition.
Most courses are filmed so you can replay the class at your leisure to aid accurate learning. (DVDs are free)

Purchasing stones
During the course you will practice with Basalt stones specially developed by Bodyology
At the end of the course you can purchase a set of stones from us or from another supplier.
We strongly recommend that you do some research on different sets but do not buy any before the course!
