Left or right? Which massage course?

Imagine the situation: you are a client waiting for your massage. In front, you see two doors:

From which therapist would you like to receive your massage?

We bet from Olivia. And we bet Olivia is giving a better massage, better educated, busier and better off financially than Freya.

So, why do some people still like to take short & brief massage courses?

Yes, of course! Short & fast courses are cheaper, but this comes with a high price: having fewer clients once graduated.

And short courses are easier and hold the attitude of ‘you don’t need long to learn massage movements.’ This attitude wouldn’t give you lots of clients.

Short & brief massage courses are great… but only for schools.

Short courses are easy to teach (tutors don’t give homework, for example), teaching is superficial, with no time to absorb the material, and schools make (per day) a lot more money. Some call short courses a sausage factory: easy in, easy out.

Learning a new skill requires continuous nurturing, similar to growing a plant (can you grow a plant fast?).

Can you, for example, take a whole month of water and ‘dump’ it onto the poor plant in one go? Most of the water will not be absorbed & you might ruin the plant.

Reality check: Will you repair your car by a mechanic who took a short & brief mechanic course? Probably not. And the human body is a lot more complex than cars!

Learning massage is also similar to learning playing music. To understand why, you would need to meet with Dror Steiner, Bodyology founder, over a cup of coffee.
